(And, needless to say, any listing with an Ai description should send you diving for cover!)Now that we know what to look for, here\'s a genuine 1943 example of the classic, WWII 43/A and 43/B escape and evasion map issued to RAF (Royal Air Force) and U.S.A. pilots. It depicts the frontier regions of France, Germany, Holland, Spain, Belgium, and Swiss borders. Although commonly referred to as \"silk\", these maps were predominately made of rayon -- for obvious reasons, silk trade was suspended during the war.Recently purchased from a Southern California estate, this fabric map is in overall good condition. That said, this is a used item, now well over 80 years-old, so expect some slight staining and fading, tiny blemishes, fold-lines, minor edge-wear, etc. Considering that it\'s been through a bloody World War, this item is in remarkable shape.Please examine listing photographs with care -- and feel free to ask any and all questions.
