Rare antique original lingerie store counter display statue/mannequin in nice original condition.
This piece came out of an estate in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Around the time this piece would've been on display, Tulsa was actually one of the most wealthy cities in the world due to a massive oil boom, and there were many high end department stores in the city catering to extremely wealthy, often famous clientele. This piece may have come from one of those department stores.Molded composition construction.
Shows wear and signs of age. Crazing to paint, splits to the wood fiber in areas with curves and tighter bends, etc. The face appears to have sunken in slightly on one side over the years, see photos. Paint is all original and has not been touched up or messed with.
Lingerie slip cover is missing one snap button to hold it up around the neck. Underneath the slip is fairly risqué appliqués on the breast and undergarment areas. These appear to be original to the piece, and are a really charming touch.
Measures just under 23 inches tall, 6.5 inches wide, and 6 inches deep.
Overall an attractive surviving original example of an incredibly scarce type of advertising. These simply do not come to market very often.
