Tyrannosaurus rex Tooth ***3 INCHES***
Upper Cretaceous (c. 66 million years ago)
Hell Creek Formation
Restored by Luke Larson
A genuine tooth from Tyrannosaurus rex, the apex predator of the Late Cretaceous, authenticated by one of the most respected authorities in tyrannosaur research, Pete Larson.
Recovered from the legendary Hell Creek Formation, this specimen dates to approximately 66 million years ago — to the final chapter of the Age of Dinosaurs.
The tooth exhibits classic tyrannosaur morphology:
• Thick, conical, bone-crushing structure
• Dense enamel designed to withstand extreme bite force
• Natural feeding wear consistent with use
• Deep mineralization from millions of years in sediment
Unlike the blade-like teeth of many theropods, T. rex teeth were engineered for power. With an estimated bite force exceeding 8,000 pounds, these teeth were built not only to slice flesh but to crush bone — and they were shed and replaced throughout the animal’s lifetime.
This example includes professional restorations, which is completely normal in high-end fossil preparation. Large theropod teeth commonly experience feeding wear, post-burial fracturing, and geological stress over tens of millions of years. Expert restoration stabilizes the original fossil material, preserves structural integrity, and ensures long-term conservation while maintaining transparency about the specimen’s condition.
Importantly, this is not a cast or a composite replica — it is an authentic T. rex tooth with documented professional authentication. In a market where provenance is critical, association with Pete Larson provides a significant layer of confidence in identification and preparation standards.
To hold a Tyrannosaurus rex tooth is to hold a weapon from the most iconic predator in Earth’s history.
66 million years old.
Forged by evolution.
Used in one of the most powerful bites ever measured.
Preserved, stabilized, and conserved for the modern collector.
A tangible fragment of deep time —
from the king of dinosaurs.
