Vintage lot of 2 German postcards featuring the historic town of Staffelstein in Upper Franconia, Bavaria, and its famous son, Adam Ries (1492–1559), the renowned German mathematician, Rechenmeister (master reckoner), and author of the classic arithmetic work Rechnung nach der Lenge.Included in this lot:

• Card No. 11/58: Features a historic woodcut-style portrait of Adam Ries at age 58, dated 1550, alongside the commemorative text “Abraham Riese über Adam Riese.” The card references the Heimatmuseum Staffelstein and features decorative deckle edges.
