Up for sale is an authentic, original Civil War era Carte de Visite (CDV) featuring a classic vignette portrait of President Abraham Lincoln. This specific portrait features the famous Ostendorf O-92 pose. The original historic photograph was taken on February 9, 1864, by Anthony Berger at Mathew Brady\'s Washington, D.C. studio. The reverse side of this card features a beautifully detailed, ornate black backmark stamp for the prominent New York studio of S. J. & C. W. Hallett, located at 134 & 136 Bowery near Grand St., N.Y. During the Civil War the Hallett brothers produced popular portraits of national figures and Union soldiers to sell as patriotic keepsakes to the public.

The card is in extremely fine condition with light handling from its 162+ years.
