Antique 18th Century German Westerwald Blue & White Stoneware Pottery Stein For Sale

A fine antique 18th century German Westerwald Steinzeug Walzenkrug or stoneware pottery stein.

With a cobalt blue salt glaze and incised designs of stylized flowers, fruit, and geometric patterns.

The handle has what appears to be an incised \'S\' to the top.

Simply a great German stoneware stein!

Overall Condition:
It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition.

Condition Details:
There is a hairline crack that runs from the rim down the stein, and some losses to the glaze throughout. There is some overpaint or excess glaze to the base of the stein. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
