Antique 1907 B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge No. 718 watch fob from Salina, Kansas, made by Schwaab S. & S. Co. of Milwaukee.
This is a wonderful piece of early 20th-century fraternal and Kansas history. The front is marked B.P.O.E. 0718, April 19, 1907, Salina, Kas. and features a detailed elk head.
The reverse reads “Compliments of The Hub, Salina, Kas.” and is marked Schwaab Milwaukee at the bottom.
Salina Elks Lodge No. 718 was instituted in 1901, making this an early piece from the lodge\'s history. The Hub was also an established Salina business dating back to 1900.
The fob retains its original/period leather strap and buckle. It has a wonderful dark antique patina with surface wear, oxidation and signs of age throughout. The leather is also heavily aged and worn, as shown in the photographs.
