BUCK’S STATEMENT:

Step back into the softly lit parlors and bedrooms of early twentieth-century America, when a small decorative lamp could transform an ordinary room into a warm and inviting retreat. This beautiful antique-style table lamp features an amber-orange glass shade decorated with a charming pastoral landscape of a country cottage, windmill, leafy trees, and distant hills. When illuminated, the shade takes on a rich golden glow, bringing the painted countryside to life. The lamp rests on an ornate gold-finished metal base with graceful floral and geometric detailing, giving it the romantic character associated with early Art Deco and late Victorian-inspired lighting.

The underside of the base bears the raised marking “LACO 100 DESIGN.” The lamp is believed to date to the early twentieth century, although its exact age and manufacturer have not been independently verified. The glass shade features an attractive matte finish with painted scenic decoration and shows signs of age and handling, including visible marks and scratches. The gold-finished metal base and shade hardware display wear, patina, and finish loss consistent with age. The lamp retains its electrical socket, harp, decorative top cap and finial, along with a cord and plug.
