Antique 19th Century Spencerian Calligraphy Ink Drawing - Framed Penman Folk Art For Sale

Another piece from my collection of ornamental penmanship. This framed piece features a hand-drawn calligraphic perched bird surrounded by a heavy calligraphic border; a mock promissory note signed by \"Timothy Tightfist\", with original penman being John Proctor, signed May 6, (and I believe it to read 1855). Adding to its uniqueness, the frame appears to be handmade as the sides are rougher than the front. I removed the piece from the frame, as it was too difficult to photograph with all the glares. On the reverse is attached and as purchased a tag from another owner. The piece is atop a similar paper (delicate vellum feel to it) that has been attached to art board. Has impressed W W & C in upper left corner. Overall condition is great, the paper shows some foxing and light staining; the frame has pictured flaws to corners. Measurements of frame are 9.75 inches by 11.5 inches by .75 inches. Paper measures 8 by 10 inches.
