Antique 7-Piece Porcelain Chocolate Service Pink Roses Art Nouveau Circa 1900 For Sale

Seven-piece partial porcelain chocolate service circa 1895-1915. Matched set consists of a covered chocolate pot, covered sugar bowl, cream pitcher, two cups, and two saucers. Exceptionally thin, translucent porcelain with scalloped edges, molded botanical details, and pierced foliate finials. Unsigned. Floral transfers, atomized sprayed shading, hand applied gilding/highlights, varied matte and gloss finishes.

Pink rose transfers are arranged over shaded purple, green, and cream grounds with hand-applied gilt outlines and rim accents. The raised leaves follow the molded profiles around the bases, saucers have coordinating relief around the cup wells. The chocolate pot is approx 9\" high with lid, sugar bowl is about 4\" high, 6.5\" across including handles, and creamer is 5.75\" high. The cups are just under 2.5\" high and saucers a bit over 6\".

• Good antique condition overall, scattered decorative wear consistent with age.
• One small shallow chip is present on the edge of a raised leaf near the foot of the chocolate pot.
• One saucer has an isolated glaze-only craze line across the underside. It is not visible from the face and does not appear to extend through the porcelain.
• Scattered thinning and losses are present on the gilt rims, handles, molded high points, and painted surfaces.
• Localized wear on portions of the rose transfers.
• The two saucers have slight variation in the purple shading.
• Light contact marks are visible on the saucer faces where the cups rest.
• Unglazed foot rings show expected wear
• Handles, spouts, pierced finials, and lids remain intact. Both lids fit properly and the interiors are clean.
