Up for sale is an authentic, guaranteed antique cast iron "still" penny bank in the form of a standing lion. This piece was manufactured by the renowned A.C. Williams Company of Ravenna, Ohio, in the early 20th century.This is the highly collectible Large-Size Variant of this design, rather than the standard smaller versions, cataloged as a premium piece in Moore's The Penny Bank Book. It features the distinct "Tail Right" mold composition and a coin slot placed along the upper ridge of the lion's mane.The bank unscrews cleanly into two separate hollow cast iron halves and retains its original flathead steel center-post machine screw.
Condition Details:Finish: Beautiful antique patina with substantial traces of the original gold-wash paint finish still clinging to the mane and body.
