The artwork features the world-famous literary figures of Miguel de Cervantes: the proud knight Don Quixote with his lance raised on his lean horse Rocinante, followed by his loyal squire Sancho Panza on the donkey Rucio. The design of this beautiful casting is directly based on the famous Cervantes monument in the Plaza de España in Madrid (by Lorenzo Coullaut Valera). The figures are traditionally handcrafted using the bronze casting process. The pure metal weight of the figures is a proud 4 kg. The beautiful, two-tone age patina (dark shades with shimmering gold tones on the relief edges) testifies to the quality of craftsmanship of the foundryman. Monumental onyx base: the figures rest on a thick, polished rectangular plate made of real, beautifully patterned onyx natural stone. The base alone weighs approx. 21 kg.
