# Antique Doulton Lambeth Art Nouveau "SCOTCH" Liquor Jug

**Custom-Manufactured for G.W. Scott & Sons — Decorated & Signed by Emily M. R. Welch**


This is a highly collectible and beautifully preserved late-19th-century Doulton Lambeth Art Nouveau salt-glazed stoneware liquor jug. This specific piece was custom-manufactured in England exclusively for the premier London luxury goods merchant, G.W. Scott & Sons.


### KEY FEATURES & DESIGN DETAILS:

* **The Design:** Features a striking two-tone brown salt glaze. The shoulder is embellished with a heavily molded, high-relief Art Nouveau collar depicting rich green holly leaves and contrasting red berries.

* **The Text:** The spirit name "SCOTCH" is explicitly embossed above the winter foliage line in stylized white lettering.

* **The Base Markings:** Fully documented on the bottom with the crisp, stamped circular Doulton Lambeth factory rosette mark (dating the piece to 1880–1891). It includes the explicit stamp: "Made only for G.W. Scott & Sons."

* **Artist Signature:** Hand-incised with the prominent "EW" monogram belonging to renowned Doulton senior artist Emily M. R. Welch, alongside the hand-painted pattern registration number 3278.
