This wonderful old kitchen tool features the classic manually operated rotary mechanism with aluminum components, cast iron construction and a turned wooden handle. Long before electric mixers became standard kitchen equipment, hand-cranked beaters like this were everyday tools for beating eggs, whipping cream and preparing batters.
The combination of aged metal, exposed gearing and wood gives this example excellent primitive and farmhouse character. Equally appealing as an early kitchen collectible or displayed with antique utensils, stoneware, advertising pieces and country kitchen décor.
A particularly nice piece for collectors of early American kitchenware, Dover utensils, primitive tools or turn-of-the-century household objects.
Condition
Antique pre-owned condition with expected age-related wear, oxidation, patina and surface wear consistent with an early kitchen utensil. Wood and metal components retain the character expected from age and use.
