The underside is marked 839, the documented pattern number for the No. 10 flat Dutch oven cover, with a faint No. 10 marking also visible.
Measures approximately 11-13/16" across and approximately 3" tall including the handle. Weighs approximately 5 lb. 11 oz.
This lid remains unrestored, retaining its aged surface and patina. It shows age-related wear, oxidation, discoloration and scattered surface rust. It is solid and intact with no cracks, breaks or other major damage noted, and the loop handle is secure.
A scarce early piece of American cast iron and a particularly useful find for a collector looking to complete an early No. 10 ERIE Dutch oven.
