Authentic antique El Salero wooden cigar box manufactured by Guedalia & Co., a New York cigar maker active during the late 1800s and early 1900s.
The box retains its colorful original interior lithograph depicting two women overlooking a harbor, along with “El Salero,” “Guedalia y Ca.,” and “Imported Havana Tobacco — Made in Bond” advertising. The exterior has its original red El Salero border labels, stamped branding, partial tax/bond labels, and “Magnificos” size marking.
“Made in Bond” indicates that the cigars were manufactured in a United States bonded facility using imported Havana tobacco. The box is believed to date from approximately the late 1890s to early 1900s.

Condition:
Antique condition with substantial age-related wear. The paper labels show fading, staining, losses, tears, lifting, and edge wear. The wood has scratches, discoloration, small separations, and handwritten markings on one end. The interior lithograph remains colorful but has spotting, scratches, and surface wear. Hinged lid and front closure hardware remain present. Empty box only; no cigars included.
