Beautiful antique set of five Haviland & Co. Limoges, France porcelain dessert plates, dating to the late 19th century, circa 1890s.
Each plate features a different hand-painted floral design accented by elaborate gold scroll decoration, raised white enamel details, and a scalloped molded rim. The five plates share the same blank and coordinated decorative treatment while featuring individual floral compositions.
All five bear the H & Co / L / France Haviland backstamp. Three of the five plates are also hand initialed “M.W.H.” in red on the reverse, believed to be the decorator's initials.
Each plate measures approximately 7 1/4" in diameter.
Good antique condition overall. Three plates have no chips. The plate with the purple floral spray has three small rim chips, and the blue cornflower plate has one small rim chip. There is minor wear to the gold decoration on some plates consistent with age. Please review all photos closely for condition and details.
Set of 5.
