Antique Hubley Cast Iron Boston Terrier Dog Doorstop – Rare 10” Size – Original Paint
Up for sale is a genuine, early 20th-century antique cast iron Boston Terrier (French Bulldog style) doorstop. This is the highly desirable and scarcer full-sized \"Puppy Size\" variant, measuring exactly 10 inches tall to the tips of the ears.
Unlike the common modern reproductions floating around, this is a verified original period casting from the 1920s–1930s. It features the authentic smooth-finished two-piece hollow construction held together by an original, period-correct counter-sunk flat-head slot screw.
• Paint: Retains a large amount of its wonderful, original factory-applied black and cream paint with natural, dark aged patina. There is no modern touch-up paint or restoration.
• Structure: Please note that there is a prominent structural casting crack/separation running down the back of the dog\'s head between the ears (clearly visible in the photos). The piece is still heavy and holds together well for display, but it is being sold as-is with this vintage wear in mind.
