tem: Antique \"Jenny Lind\" Historical Calabash Portrait FlaskClassification: McKearin GI-103 (Attributed to Whitney Glass Works, Glassboro, NJ)Era: Civil War Era / Mid-19th Century (Circa 1850–1865)Size: QuartColor: Aquamarine / Light Blue-GreenDesign Elements:
  • Obverse (Front): Features a beautifully crisp, high-relief embossed portrait bust of opera singer Jenny Lind framed within a laurel wreath, with the arched text misspelled \"JENY . LIND\" above the bust.
  • Reverse (Back): Depicts an embossed glasshouse factory building with a prominent smoking chimney. Features the diagnostic mold variation lacking the star between the words \"GLASS FACTORY\".
  • Base: Features an authentic, sharp, and highly prominent open blowpipe pontil scar. 100% authentic 19th-century period glass.
  • Lip: Applied broad sloping collar mouth.
Condition Report:
  • Damage: EXCELLENT structural condition. Absolutely NO chips, cracks, flakes, bruises, or repairs. The lip and the delicate open pontil base are fully intact.
  • Glass Clarity & Detailing: The glass is remarkably clear, bright, and free of the heavy internal cloudiness or glass sickness common to dug flasks. This example features faint, historic 19th-century gold paint/gilding remnants highlighting the factory windows, chimney smoke, and portrait details from its time spent as a Victorian parlor piece. The paint does not hide the glass or mask any defects.
Please see the high-resolution macro photos to verify the open pontil, crisp mold lines, and gorgeous overall eye appeal. A fantastic companion piece to the GI-102 or a standout addition to an early American historical glass collection.Shipping: Will be packed with professional care (double-boxed with heavy bubble wrap) to ensure safe transit.
