This object is a vintage bronze relief plaque featuring a harlequin on one knee playing a lute.

Created by the celebrated Austrian sculptor and medalist Karl Perl (18761965). You can spot his signature ("K. PERL") etched into the lower right corner of the piece. This piece originates from the 1910s to 1920s. During this period, Perl designed a well-known series of small plaques widely inspired by traditional folklore, music, and fairytales. It was originally manufactured as a decorative door plaque or wall embellishment. The two holes at the top corners are designed for small mounting screws or pins.
