Antique Leuchtenburg Germany Porcelain 3 Pc Set Cracker Biscuit Jar Sugar Creamer
For sale is a 3-piece antique porcelain set manufactured by Porzellanfabrik Leuchtenburg (C. & E. Carstens) in Thuringia, Germany. Based on the distinctive green castle backstamp featured on the bottom of all three items, this set dates precisely between 1896 and 1920.The set features a delicate, romantic design showcasing hand-painted pink cabbage roses and soft yellow blossoms accented by molded, embossed leaf reliefs around the rims and bases.In good antique condition with no cracks, major chips, or repairs, the floral graphics remain crisp and bright. There is a small, dark kiln or firing spot on the interior bottom of the sugar bowl. This is a natural manufacturing flaw from the production process where a tiny speck of mineral or ash was trapped in the glaze during firing, which is typical for porcelain of this era and does not affect the structural integrity of the piece. There is a small chip on the handle of the lid of the biscuit jar. There is a small glaze rough spot / fleabite along the rim of the creamer pitcher, which is very hard to notice.
