DESCRIPTION:
Antique Magic Lantern slide advertising Van Heusen shirts "the World's Smartest Collar" and other menswear for B.B. Shimonowsky & Bro General Merchants (in Prescott, AZ). Bernard B. Shimonowsky moved to Arizona around 1920. He established a strong footprint in Prescott's business community, working extensively in the local real estate industry. Slide was made by Standard Slide Corp.at 209 West 48th Street, New York. I suspect the slide dates to the early 1920s and that the lettering in the blue color block with the merchants' name was added locally.
Very good condition. The slide has been wiped with a soft microfiber cloth. No chips or cracks in the glass. The lettering at the bottom with the merchants' name has a little wrinkling in it.
