This listing is for the cool little shoe horn/button hook in its original case as shown. The New Breakers Cafe was on the Ocean Park Pier from 1913 when it was rebuilt after the original Breakers Cafe burned to the ground during a large fire on the pier. It existed on the new pier until 1925 or so, when, you guessed it, another fire burned it and more again. I don\'t believe it ever existed again after that, at least not at that location in what was and is called Ocean Park, which is just a local in Santa Monica now. The shoe horn has some discoloration from age but still opens and closes nicely with some snap in both the open and closing position in both directions, along with a detent at the half open/closed position. The button hook is bent, but it was made that way to conform to the shape of the shoe horn. The original case is rough but still functions with a good snap closure.
