This is an elegant, and highly sought‑after, set of three lunch plates in the Cuckoo pattern produced by Minton, one of England’s most prestigious porcelain manufacturers. Based on the backstamps, these plates date between 1914 and 1920, during the period when Minton was known for exceptional hand‑painted artistry and fine bone china.
Two of the plates carry the Alex Anderson, Minneapolis retailer mark, indicating they were originally sold through this high‑end luxury store. All plates are hand painted, showcasing the vibrant floral detailing and classic red scalloped border characteristic of the Cuckoo pattern.
Given their age, the plates show light utensil wear, and one plate has a tiny chip on the underside, as shown in the photos. The chip is more noticeable from the bottom than the top and does not affect display quality.
