Up for sale is a pair of original glass fuel founts (kerosene reservoirs) made by the Perfection Stove Company of Cleveland, Ohio. These jars powered Perfection’s famous blue-flame kerosene heaters and wick stoves in the early 1900s.
This lot is especially collectible because it represents two distinct stages of Perfection production:
🔹 Jar 1 (earliest example)
• Embossed with multiple patent dates: Nov. 20, 1917 / Apr. 8, 1919 / May 6, 1919, plus Canada (1916) and England (1919).
• Dates this jar to c. 1918–1920, making it one of the earliest embossed Perfection founts.
• Clear glass with light brown tint near top from original kerosene use.
• Strong, legible embossing with triangle trademark.
🔹 Jar 2 (later example)
• Embossed with “Patented June 24, 1919 / June 15, 1920.”
• Dates this jar to c. 1920–1923.
• Slightly different shoulder profile and simpler embossing compared to earlier version.
• Retains original band and wire handle.
