Antique Regency / Georgian Inlaid Faux Tortoiseshell Footed Snuff Box
An authentic early 19th-century English Regency period (circa 1810–1830) miniature footed chest / snuff box. Formed in the style of a miniature dome-top tea caddy, the exterior is veneered in rich mottled tortoiseshell-effect horn, inlaid with diagonal metal stringing and a central blank cartouche plate.
The box opens to reveal its original, vibrant cobalt blue paper lining with gold foliate arabesques. The base is raised on all four of its original miniature turned bone spool feet, and the lid operates with a working front push-button latch.
