Antique Sal-Vet Poultry Tonic Box Early 1900s Unopened Great Graphics:
$138.00

Description

A rare and early 1900s Sal-Vet Brand Poultry Tonic box, featuring fantastic vintage farm advertising graphics and unopened original contents. The box reads “Guaranteed by The S.R. Feil Co. under the Food and Drug Act, June 30, 1909”, making this an authentic turn-of-the-century agricultural product.

The box measures approximately 6" × 6" and remains sealed and intact. There is some light surface dirt and minor paper loss on the top edges consistent with age, but overall it displays beautifully — bright colors, strong lettering, and excellent structural integrity for its age.

A truly rare piece of early American farm and veterinary advertising, ideal for display in a country store collection, barn décor, or agricultural memorabilia showcase.

Historical Note

Sal-Vet Poultry Tonic was a popular early 20th-century livestock remedy produced by The S.R. Feil Company, one of several agricultural supply manufacturers marketing “health tonics” for chickens and livestock during the pre-FDA era of farm veterinary care.

Boxes from this period that remain sealed with contents intact are seldom seen. The Food and Drug Act of 1909 guarantee statement dates this example squarely to the first decade of the 1900s — an important transitional period in American agricultural regulation and advertising history.

Collector’s Note

Antique farm and veterinary advertising products like Sal-Vet Poultry Tonic are prized for their colorful graphics, rustic charm, and connection to early American farm life. Complete and unopened boxes are increasingly scarce, especially those with legible Food & Drug Act markings.

A fantastic survivor from over a century ago — perfect for collectors of vintage farm advertising, apothecary goods, or early agricultural packaging.
