Antique Scrappy WHEEL OF FORTUNE Quilt 87340 This listing is for a vintage scrappy Wheel of Fortune quilt. The design resembles Dresden Plate except the outside edges of the blades are not scalloped or pointed. Judging by the fabrics used, I would estimate the quilt to have been made between 1880 and 1910. The fabrics, typical of this era, include cheddar yellow, indigo and white, blue weaves, browns, blacks, and cranberry reds The quilt measures approximately 72\" X 82\". The individual blocks are approximately 12 1/2\" square. The circles are approximately 8 1/2\" in diameter. The quilt is previously owned. The dark green sashing has some fading on one end -- that color was unstable due to the chemicals used in the dye and frequently morphs to khaki, although, this is probably sun fading. The cheddar yellow and fabrics in the circles show no evidence of fading. One block has an age spot near a corner. The fabrics appear to be cotton. The blocks appear to have been assembled by hand. The quilting was done by hand. Quilting stitches average 12 stitches per inch, counting both the top and bottom stitches. The edges are straight. The quilt could be displayed folded in half. This is a unique country primitive that would make an excellent addition to your collection.
