Beautiful antique Shaw & Copestake #347 vase pair, made in England and featuring an especially striking teal/blue-green ground with elaborate gilt decoration.
Each vase has an ornate twin-handled form with a scalloped rim, raised floral and scroll decoration, and a charming central landscape scene featuring swans on the water. The two scenes have subtle differences in the painted details, giving each vase individual character while clearly presenting as a coordinating pair.
The rich teal coloring combined with the aged gold decoration gives these an exceptionally decorative appearance. Both pieces are marked 347 and correspond to known Shaw & Copestake examples of this form.
Condition: These are antique pieces and show age-related wear, including areas of wear/loss to the gilding and decoration. One vase looks like a triangular piece on the top rim broke off at some point was repaired. The cracks is still visible though. Please review all photographs closely for condition, as they are considered part of the description.
