38" Long with handle...with scabbard 42"
4" leather Grip
Aged reproduction of an 1850 U.S. Foot Officer sword, styled after Union officer swords used during the American Civil War era, circa 1861–1865. The visible U.S. insignia on the guard identifies the pattern as Union / United States military style rather than Confederate.
Swords of this type were carried by U.S. Army officers as both sidearms and symbols of rank. The design typically featured an ornate brass guard, leather-wrapped grip, decorated blade, and metal scabbard, reflecting the formal military style of mid-19th century officer equipment.
This example features a brass-tone hilt with U.S. guard decoration, black leather-style wrapped grip, etched blade detail, and steel scabbard. The finish has been aged to give the sword the appearance of a long-preserved display piece.
