Tudric Basket.
An antique pewter cake basket (tray) was designed by Archibald Knox for Liberty, ca 1905 in the distinctive Arts and Crafts style of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. Marked on the underside Tudric, 0357, the Registered Number of 449058 for 1905, and Liberty.

The cake basket evolved from the form of the 18th-century bread basket, in response to the Victorian need to serve cake elegantly at their social gatherings.Size: 9 cm high, 31 x 22 cm; weight is about 1.1 Kg.Condition: very good antique condition, minor wear commensurate with its age and use.
