Antique Venetian Millefiori Long Tube African Trade Beads 30” Strand For Sale

Exceptional matched strand of antique Venetian/Murano millefiori mosaic glass trade beads in elongated tube and cylinder shapes.The beads feature dense “thousand flower” cane patterns in golden yellow, rust red, cobalt blue, white and black. Their floral and sunburst designs are formed from bundled glass canes embedded throughout the bead—not painted onto the surface.These beads were produced in Venice for trade with West Africa, most likely during the late 1800s to early 1900s. They are temporarily strung on traditional raffia or fiber cord.Approximately 30 inches long overall, including the raffia loop.Antique condition with visible chips, end losses, pitting, scratches, small fractures and surface wear throughout. Some beads have larger chips or partially missing ends, as shown in the close-up photographs. These imperfections are consistent with their age and long history of use.The existing raffia cord shows wear and is not guaranteed for regular wear.
