Antique XXth Century Cordley & Hayes Stoneware Water Cooler Style 50-29 For Sale

Rare early XXth Century stoneware water cooler by Cordley & Hayes, New York, marked Style No. 50-29. This substantial glazed ceramic cooler stands approximately 11½ inches tall and retains its original lower metal spigot assembly with chain. The blue transfer mark reads “XXth Century Trade Mark Cooler Patented, Cordley & Hayes, New York.” Cordley & Hayes was advertising its XXth Century coolers by at least 1912, and company advertisements from the early 1920s show the line still in active production. A wonderful piece of early commercial kitchen, soda fountain, general store, or primitive Americana décor. The aged glaze, original hardware, and maker’s mark give it excellent display appeal.
