Antique c1906 Chiclets Chewing Gum Glass Counter Display Box Fleer Advertising For Sale

Outstanding early Chiclets chewing gum countertop display box, dating to approximately 1906.Constructed of cardboard with the original decorative Chiclets paper covering and glass display window. The inside lid features beautiful early advertising for “Bouquet de Crème de Menthe” Chiclets, described as a candy-coated chewing gum “particularly desirable after dinner.” The graphic also advertises Chiclets at Five Cents the Ounce and references the makers of Fleer’s Pepsin Gum.This style of display was made to sit directly on a candy, drugstore or general-store counter with the gum visible beneath the glass.A remarkably attractive survivor with excellent early graphics and strong display presence.
