Austrian Model 1870 Yataghan Sword Bayonet & Scabbard for Werndl Rifle TR1737 For Sale

Antique Austrian Model 1870 Sword Bayonet measuring 23.75" overall with a blade length of 18.75", with a inside muzzle diameter of approx. .725". Blade shows nearly all of it's original finish with the left side front area of blade showing some light spots that show tiny pin-prick pitting. The ricasso area of the blade shows the Austrian crest on one side, obverse side shows a WH in a oval with some letters below it. The grips are excellent with no cracks, great working press-stud, hooked quillon and pommel shows a brown age patina with some tiny scattered pin-prick pitting. The hook area shows a serial no. 1368 with some cartouches. The scabbard has a dark brown/plum age patina with scattered dings/dents. The scabbard closes fully on the bayonet. The frog stud also shows the Austrian Crest.This bayonet was used on the Model 1867 Werndl Military Rifle.
This bayonet was very similar to the Austrian Model 1867 bayonet , but the finial on top of the muzzle ring was removed and had a screw installed in it.
