For sale is a beautiful, highly collectible, and 100% authentic Soviet-era Russian miniature lacquer box. Hand-painted in the historic village of Palekh in 1982, this exquisite piece features a vivid, detailed folklore scene painted with egg tempera and accented with magnificent gold leaf ornamentation.

The lid depicts a stunning fairy tale illustration (evoking Alexander Pushkin's Ruslan and Lyudmila or the Firebird), featuring a maiden beside a woodland tree gazing up at a warrior on a flying, winged horse framed by a brilliant golden sun disc.The bottom of the illustration features three distinct, authentic gold inscriptions:

Center: Origin and date Палех 1982 (Palekh 1982)
Right: Artist signature Любимов Г. (G. Lyubimov, a highly prominent Palekh art school graduate and master).
Dimensions:
Approximately 11.5 cm x 11.5 cm (4.5 inches x 4.5 inches). A beautiful, substantial square size that makes a perfect display piece.
Condition:
•Excellent Vintage Condition. The main hand-painted miniature on the lid is exceptionally clean, sharp, and vibrant. No cracks, chipping, or deep scratches to the glossy lacquer on the top or sides.
•Interior: Clean, uniform, bright crimson-red lacquer interior—the classic hallmark of authentic Palekh.
•Underside: Stamped "Made in USSR." Shows minor, natural shelf-wear/fading on the back base where it rests, consistent with a well-preserved 40+ year-old antique collectible.
