This is a beautiful, authentic Native American Pueblo pottery piece: a traditional Hand-Coiled Friendship Bowl crafted by recognized artisan Bertina Tosa of the Jemez Pueblo (New Mexico).
This visually striking piece features four hand-sculpted figures peering into the bowl over a stepped geometric rim. In a wonderful, rarer detail, a small molded turtle rests at the very bottom of the inside basin—a traditional Pueblo symbol representing water, life, longevity, and Mother Earth.
The body of the vessel features traditional hand-painted polychrome geometric patterns using natural earth slips, framed by a beautiful, stone-polished orange-redware finish.
