Up for sale is a stunning, genuine mid-career contemporary Shona stone sculpture by the internationally recognized second-generation Zimbabwean artist, Square Chikwanda (b. 1972). Born into a family of legendary carvers at the Tengenenge Arts Centre, Chikwanda is celebrated for his elegant, minimalist approach to stylized human forms.This striking piece features his signature elongated \"blade\" or \"leaf\" profile.

The front of the sculpture showcases sharp, geometric facial lines with stylized eyes and prominent lips emerging beautifully from the stone, while the reverse side is left entirely smooth, rounded, and masterfully polished to a high-gloss finish.

Material & Geology: Carved from a premium block of variegated Zimbabwean serpentine stone (commonly referred to as the \"Lemon Opal\" variety). The stone boasts a magnificent natural color transition, moving seamlessly from a deep, rich forest green at the base to an earthy, warm mustard-brown hue near the crown. Beautiful, naturally occurring iron-oxide mineral veins run through the stone, adding incredible character and serving as a fingerprint of its raw, organic authenticity.
