Brown Belle was a historic black owned soft drink bottler. The company started in 1938 by prominent African-American businessman A.G. Gaston, in Birmingham, Alabama. He expanded to many regional southern cities, including Knoxville, Tennessee in 1946. However, the plant closed in 1951, because of financial difficulties.
This bottle was made by the Knox Glass Company with manufacturing plant in Jackson, Mississippi.
This bottle features the name, "Brown Belle" in a square slug plate on one side. On the neck, it features, "Brown" on one side, and "Belle" on the other. On the bottom, it states, "Property of Brown Belle Bottling Co".
The bottle is in good looking condition. It has an orange peel effect, so it may have had orange soda in it. It is very clear for a bottle of this age. There are no lines of case wear.
Shipping for this bottle will be only $9.00, anywhere in the U.S. for 2-4 day mail.
If you like more of my many bottles, I will ship them FREE with your new Brown Belle bottle.
