Beautiful Antique Brass Clock Dial- John Lawson of Bingley c. 1700\'s: $199.00
John Lawson was a notable 18th-century English clockmaker who operated in the West Yorkshire area, specifically associated with Bingley, Keighley, and Bradford. Historic records and surviving horological pieces highlight his work, particularly during the George III era around the 1760s through the late 18th century. While some records place his primary residence and burial in nearby Keighley (living from roughly 1712 to 1780), several of his highly collectible longcase (grandfather) clocks explicitly bear the signature \"John Lawson of Bingley\".Dials & Faces: His clocks typically feature brass dials, Roman numeral chapters, outer Arabic minute tracks, and intricate details like matted centers, calendar apertures, and cast gilt-brass spandrels. Some higher-end models include painted moon-phase dials or moon roller discs in the arch. This antique brass clock dial is in excellent condition other than the small area on the moon face that will need to be repaired and the screws holding the spandrels in the corners are too long and will need to be replaced with the correct length. It measures 12\" square.
