It holds a hand-forged 1045 high carbon steel blade, heat tempered, with a bo-hi on each side, paired with a traditional tsuba and black cotton ito. It arrives sharp, with a full tang, two mekugi and fittings that come fully apart for care.

  Care and Use

Suited to light cutting practice such as rolled tatami omote, soft mats and water-filled bottles, where permitted by local law. Not intended for hard targets such as metal, stone or seasoned hardwood. The blade can rust if left wet: wipe it dry after handling and apply a light coat of sword oil before storing.
