Boston Woodturning Tommy Gagnon Box Elder Ink Pyro Hand Turned Wooden Bowl Platter Display Vessel dated2016Tommy Gagnon (died in 2019 at the age of just 43) was a MA-based artist who specialized in making hand turned bowls and other objects from local New England species of wood. He would often burn patterns and use inks to highlight designs which is what this example shows. It is a large spalted box elder platter with ink and pyro design (mandala) and is numbered and dated on the underside. I have included a screenshot from his FB page for authenticity and to provide all of the correct materials. Pieces by Tommy Gagnon are highly collected and prized and as such it is very rare to see one come to market. Google his FB page to see more of his truly spectacular works and pieces.
