Rare framed Buck Rogers from the 25th Century Original Art hand done piece by Bud Gordinier, from sometime around 1980. Featuring great upper body images of Buck Rogers and Wilma Deering. I assume it was unpublished.
Gordinier was a seasoned commercial illustrator who deliberately mimicked the historic, high-contrast, heavy ink style of the original 1930s Buck Rogers artist Dick Calkins
In 1979, NBC produced a Buck Rogers TV series, which lasted two years. During that time, several fans/businessmen attempted to bring back Buck Rogers in comic form. This series was presented to the Dille family (longtime owners of the Buck Rogers property) by Bud Gordinier and several others.Gordinier also collaborated with historian Eugene Seger to draw fan-produced strips that concluded classic, unresolved storylines from the Buck Rogers franchise.Due to the TV series running at the same time, and maybe other undisclosed reasons, the Dille family passed on the idea. Bud was a perfectionist, and this piece shows his talent.

The size of the actual art is probably about 7x19 inches.Frame is approximately 11x23 inches. Art appears to be professional India ink and brushes over light graphite pencils on heavy Bristol board or illustration board.
