For your consideration is an exceptional 18th-century English brass candle snuffer and tray set, dating to the mid Georgian period. This is a genuine antique set, not a later reproduction, and features the high-quality craftsmanship typical of early Birmingham brass founders.

The Wick Trimmer (Snuffer):

• Design: Features the classic rectangular snuff box designed to catch charred wicks.

• Construction: Heavy cast brass with elegant scrolled finger loops.

• Details: Includes the original three peg feet (two on the handle, one on the tip) designed to keep the soiled blades elevated from the tray surface.

• Function: The central pivot remains tight and functional; the pointed tip was designed for "teasing" wicks.

The Tray:

• Form: A beautiful "waisted" or hourglass shape with a lobed/scalloped rim, a hallmark of the 1760-75 Rococo period.

• Surface: Shows slight irregularities indicative of early manufacturing.

Condition:

Excellent antique condition commensurate with over 250 years of age. The brass has a warm glow with no major dents or repairs. The snuffer and tray are a correct historical match.

This set would be a premier addition to any collection of early metalware or 18th-century domestic lighting. Please see photos for a close-up look at the casting details and the original feet.

Authentic Pre-Dynastic Egyptian Flint Tool Kit • Caramel Chert Borer & Hollow-Base Arrowhead • Ancient Egypt Neolithic Lithic Artifact Set c. 5500-3100 BCEtsy Product DescriptionDiscover a genuine piece of prehistoric Egypt with this exceptional, two-piece lithic artisan tool kit.Hand-knapped from premium, locally sourced Theban caramel chert (flint), this cohesive set was discovered in the Western Desert surrounding ancient Thebes (modern-day Luxor). It offers a rare, tangible window into the daily life, craftsmanship, and survival of Egypt’s Pre-Dynastic ancestors (c. 5500–3100 BC).🌟 WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THIS SET:The Precision Perforator / Drill Borer (Approx. 2.5 Inches): A beautifully preserved, completely intact prehistoric drill bit. It features a wide, sturdy base designed for a secure hand grip and a sharply knapped, diamond-cross-section tip. The intentional raised ridge running down the center gave the tool the structural strength needed to bore holes into tough wood, bone, leather, or beads without snapping. The Classic Hollow-Base Arrowhead: Sitting alongside the borer is a classic, deeply concave hollow-base projectile point. This iconic, winged silhouette is the definitive style of the Egyptian Neolithic and early Naqada cultures, perfectly sized for ancient desert hunting.⚒️ MATERIAL & CRAFTSMANSHIPBoth artifacts are expertly knapped from highly collectible Egyptian Caramel Chert. The pieces display magnificent ancient pressure-flaking along the cutting edges, structural symmetry, and an authentic, smooth desert patina developed over millennia spent resting in the arid Egyptian sands.📐 SPECIFICATIONS:Era: Pre-Dynastic to Early Dynastic Egypt (c. 5500–3100 BC)Origin: Western Desert plateau, Thebes (Luxor region), Upper EgyptMaterial: Natural Caramel/Chocolate Chert (Flint)Borer Size: Approximately 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) in lengthCondition: Excellent prehistoric condition. The borer tip is remarkably complete and unbroken. Natural ancient surface wear and patina as shown.📜 COLLECTOR NOTE & PROVENANCE:This matching set represents a stunning "artisan's toolkit," likely originating from an ancient open-air desert workshop. Because both pieces perfectly match in color, material, weathering, and regional origin, they tell a powerful cohesive story and make a premier addition to any ancient history, military, or lithic artifact collection.
