Amazing Small 3\" Capuli / Indigenous Andean Narino Culture, Very Old Unknown Art Pottery. Mask appears to be a Capulí mask / funerary mask, likely from the Capulí culture, which flourished in the Andean region of present-day northern Ecuador and southern Colombia between approximately 800–1500 CE.
The incised lines above the forehead and the simplistic, expressive features (especially the nose and lips) align with known Capulí mask designs.
Function: These masks were often placed in tombs as part of burial rites, possibly representing ancestors or spiritual entities.
