Leland (whose real name was apparently Hans Breitmann) is best-known for his book called ARADIA, about the Strega or Witches of Italy, as well as his books on the Gypsies.
In this book he has collected up legends from the great and very ancient Italian city of Florence, home of Dante and the Medici dukes who brought Plato and the Hermetica to the western world.
I believe this to be the First American Edition. The First British Edition was probably published by David Nutt of London, who has a page of ads at the end of this book.
In all he recounts 47 legends in this second series of his Legends of Florence.
