This is a matching pair of 1956 California license plates. They qualify for CA DMV registration of model years 1956 thru 1962 passenger vehicles.
Condition
The plates are in excellent condition with original paint. These are DMV issued steel plates. Paint still shies. All defects are minimal. Lower left of both plates have the signature paint \"fingerprint\", proving the original paint. Some mounting holes have scratches.
Front PlateMinor bends and minor scratches, most noticeably on some of the characters.
Rear PlateAs-new. 1957 sticker is a reproduction sticker but is acceptable if your passenger vehicle is a 1957.
California YOM programThey can be used to register a passenger vehicle model years 1956 thru 1962 in the state of California under the YOM program. A 1956 or 1957 model year vehicle can use them as is. 1958 thru 1962 model year cars must have the vehicle\'s proper model year sticker. Stickers are available on other sites. I have not heard of anyone having a problem with the DMV and reproduction stickers as long as they are the proper color and design. You can see the DMV paperwork by going to dmv.ca.gov and search for YOM, look for the PDF file for the form. The form lists the requirements for plates to qualify. Note that although the program is called \"Year of Manufacture\" (YOM), the required license sticker must match the MODEL year of the vehicle to be registered.
The DMV will issue the current month and year stickers when registering.They will also include license toppers (see last pic) to display the current month and year registration stickers if you do not want to display the current stickers on these plates.
