Up for sale today is this Wilmington, NC, 2554 Miles distance sign. Made to the exact standards as used by the state of California at the eastbound beginning of Interstate 40, in Barstow. The distance given is that to the other end of the highway. (There was at one time a corresponding westbound sign in Wilmington giving the distance to Barstow, but North Carolina gave up replacing it after it was stolen one too many times.)
