The Pink Bear Breast Cancer Awareness version of the California State Parks (CSP) uniform patch has been authorized for wear during National Breast Cancer Awareness month in October for rangers, park aides, maintenance workers, and other uniformed personnel.

We are pleased to announce that for October,California State Parks will be participating in a project forBreast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Pink Patch Project (#PinkPatchProject) was started by theLos Angeles County Police Chiefs Association several years ago as a publicawareness campaign
designed to bring attention to the fight against breast cancerand to support breast cancer research and treatment organizations in combating thisdevastating disease. .
The program centers on a pink version of an agency's uniform patch.These patches have beenspecially designed by each participating agency specifically for the Pink PatchProject campaign. Employees at each of the participatingagencies may wear these pink patches on their regular uniforms for the entire month of October during "Breast Cancer Awareness Month."
The pink patches and other related items are intended tostimulate conversation with the community and to encourage public awarenessabout the importance of early detection and the on-going fight against thisdisease.
You can support awareness by purchasing items from California State Park Anniversary Committee (CSPAC).
The following CSP logo, dubbed thepink bear, will be available as a patch and as a lapel pin. The patch, pin and badge are authorized to be wormby uniformed staff during the month of October and thelapel pin at any time by non-uniformed staff, at personal expense.
