Description: This knife is known to the U.S. Army Special Forces as "The Yarborough". It is a no-nonsense, hardworking tool, designed by renowned knife maker and designer Bill Harsey. This non-serialized Green Beret was named in honor of Lieutenant General William Pelham Yarborough, who is known as the "Father of the Modern Green Berets". Since August 23, 2002, a serialized version of the "Yarborough" knife has been presented to each graduate of the Special Forces Qualification Course.
The hollow ground CPM-MagnaCut stainless steel (61-62 Hrc) blade features an aggressively ground swedge. This transitions to an elegantly rounded spine perfect for batoning through wood. A double row of serrations is placed just in front of the comfortably rounded choil. CPM-MagnaCut is a premium stainless steel created by Crucible with the help of professional metallurgist Dr. Larrin Thomas. MagnaCut combines the high toughness of CPM-4V with the corrosion resistance of CPM-20CV. This creates a perfect blade steel option for knives that need high toughness and great edge retention while still being easy to maintain. This makes MagnaCut a great candidate for both folding knives and hard use fixed blades. Black canvas Micarta handle scales are set on the full tang for strength and durability. They nicely swell to fill the palm and flare at the pommel and cross-guard. A glass-breaker is integrated with the lanyard hole.
